
James Medeiros is thrilled to be sharing the stage with a passionate group of artists to bring A Matter of Heart to life as part of this year’s Island Theatre Festival.
Favourite roles performed previously include: Javert in Les Misérables, The Baker in Into the Woods and Collins in RENT. As a soloist, James has performed both classical and golden age musical theatre repertoire from Mozart to Gershwin with orchestras and ensembles including the Windsor Symphony, Orchestra London, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Sinfonia, Choralis Camerata, Chorus Niagara and others.
James has musically directed and played piano for shows like: Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Sister Act, Little Shop of Horrors, White Christmas, The Last Five Years, Suds, Hair, Godspell, Blood Brothers, Xanadu and The Wedding Singer. He studied Musical Theatre, Opera and classical art song at The University of Western Ontario, graduating Master of Music in Literature and Performance in 2012 and Bachelor of Music Honours Performance in 2009.
For the last few years, the highlight of James‘ summer has been spending time at the family cottage near Victoria by the Sea. When not on the island, James can be found in the Niagara Region where he lives with his wife Stephanie, his son Jamie and their three cats.
