James Medeiros

Home / James Medeiros

James Medeiros is delighted to be sharing the stage with a talented group of artists — bringing Stan’s music and maritime stories to life once again in a place that has come to feel like a second home.

Some of James’ favourite roles include Javert in Les Misérables, the Baker in Into the Woods, and Collins in RENT. As a soloist, he has had the joy of performing both classical and musical theatre repertoire—from Mozart to Gershwin—with ensembles such as the Windsor Symphony, Orchestra London, Niagara-on-the-Lake Sinfonia, Choralis Camerata, and Chorus Niagara.

James also enjoys time spent as music director, vocal coach and pianist. His theatre production credits include Smokey Joe’s Café, Sister Act, Little Shop of Horrors, White Christmas, The Last Five Years, Suds, Hair, Godspell, Blood Brothers, Xanadu, and The Wedding Singer. He studied musical theatre, opera, and classical art song at the University of Western Ontario, where he earned a Master of Music in Literature and Performance and a Bachelor of Music in Honours Performance — in voice.

In recent years, summers spent at the family cottage near Victoria-by-the-Sea—filled with salt air, quiet moments, and time with friends—have become a true highlight for James. When not on the Island, he lives in the Niagara Region with his wife Stephanie, their son Jamie, and their three cats.
